The Retreat @ Solway House is a cosy 1-bed annex tucked away in our garden in the peaceful hamlet of Rigg, just 1 mile from Gretna Green. Our semi rural location is only a 3 mile drive from the M6/and just off the A75, the perfect stop over to break up any car journey, we provide parking for one car on our driveway. The Annex is a self-contained tiny home with its own private entrance, featuring a double bed, log burner, cosy sofa area, shower room, and a fully equipped kitchen/dining area.

Tucked away in our private garden, this self-contained 1-bedroom annex is perfect for solo travellers, couples, or those en route to weddings or adventures in Scotland. 🛏️ Your Space Includes • Standard UK double bed • Lounge area with sofa and cosy log burner • Separate shower room and WC with cold water sink •. Compact but fully functional kitchen/dining space with: • Electric oven & hob • Microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster • Washing machine • Full crockery and cookware 🚗 Location & Local Area We’re located in Rigg, a quiet semi-rural hamlet just 1 mile from Gretna Green, home of the famous Blacksmith’s Shop and Designer Outlet Village. • 3 miles from the M6 and Gretna train station • Easy access to the A75 • Local pub and Co-op supermarket are just a 5 minute drive away. 🦴 Our Garden & Dogs You’ll access the annex via our garden, where you may see our two friendly dogs - Felix (Cavapoo) and Oscar (Bichon cross) - who are always supervised. They will probably want to say hello, so please let us know in advance if this could prove an issue for you.

🚗 Parking: Free off-road parking for one car on our driveway. Additional vehicles may park on the road. 💍 Attending a local wedding? Please note: Uber does not operate here. We recommend pre-booking local taxis in advance for travel to and from venues. We can help you with recommendations! 🧺 Linen & Towels: All bed linen and towels are provided. Travel cot bedding is not supplied in line with Airbnb safety policy. 🐾 Pets: Pets, we allow one well behaved small dog – please message before booking 🚭 Smoking: Smoking permitted outside only in the garden. Please do not smoke inside the annex. 🎉 Events: This is a peaceful property—we don’t allow guests to host parties or events. Please respect our home and neighbours. 🔥 Log Burner Use: One basket of firewood is supplied per booking, you’re welcome to bring your own or purchase extra baskets from us, should you require more.
